ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ON 24TH NOV 2023 – AT SASAKAWA HALL
At an impressive ceremony at the Sasakawa Hall, attended by the members of the Lanka Japan Friendship Society (LJFS), diplomats from the Japanese Embassy and members of the Japanese community in Sri Lanka, M.D (Tony) Saldin was formally elected as the19th President of the Society on 24th Nov 2023.
The induction ceremony was conducted by outgoing President Merrick Gooneratne in the presence of the Japanese Ambassador Hideaki Mizukoshi.
Ms. Samadara Mampitiye and Mr. M. Thiyagaraja were elected as General Secretary and General Treasurer, respectively.
LJFS Members, diplomats from the Japanese embassy and members of the Japanese community were present for the occasion which was followed by cocktails and dinner.
A Lifetime Achievement award was also presented to Ms. Jannath Ismail for her dedicated service to the LJFS during the past several years.
